Course 2 Chapter 3 Lesson 3?.
Course 1 Chapter 8 Lesson 6.
All math classes will learn this. Period 2 needs to learn it now. If you are in Period 1,2,4,6,or 7. You can learn this now and even do the homework that goes along with it now for practice. That will be less homework later on. It is very easy to learn, and it’s extremely fun.
The main mistake kids make is putting the wrong number first, so pay attention to that.
For fun practice, start playing the game Battleship.
Who wants to learn this stuff?
GPS systems designers, map makers, military personnel, computer graphics, video game designers, weathermen, engineers, architects, surveyors, the list goes on….

I learned about these from my daughter’s eighth grade math teacher in Sheridan, Indiana. My daughter’s been using them ever since. I endorse them as a quality product. (Disclaimer: I have made no money, nor will I, if you choose to purchase these or not. I can only say they are hard to find.) They are useful this year, but there isn’t a lot of need for them. They become more useful beginning with Pre-Algebra studies and through high school and college. One pad goes a long way.
This video is excellent and succinct. It will bring you up to speed quickly.
Now that you’ve learned about the coordinate plane, play this game Stock the Shelves at www.mrnussbaum.com
