Benchmark Testing has begun

Today, students took the pre-test benchmark exam in reading created by the School District of St. Lucie County. It is administered only to public school students in our district.

The math pre-test will be Friday, the science pre-test will be Monday.

The pre-tests will not be used as a grade for your child, they will receive no reward for doing well on it, nor will they receive a penalty for doing poorly. Its reported purpose is to measure how much your child knows at the beginning of the year. A post-test will be taken later in the year to measure how much your child has learned in the interim.

The tests can be used to compare your child’s percentile performance on this particular test. You can compare the score your child receives to the average score among students in the same class, the same team, and in the same grade within our district.

Lunch is served from 11 to 11:30 a.m. for 6th graders. The first period begins after lunch. Each period is 30 minutes in duration during benchmark testing.
