What: Statewide Florida Stand Up for Education Rally

Where: University of Central Florida

When: February 28th 11 am to 1 pm

Who: YOU, your family, your friends, your neighbors

WHY: The budget for education is being cut. That means that YOUR child will suffer as a result.

TRANSPORTATION: Two buses are being paid for by the teacher’s union. Call 464-6430. There is no charge; however, you must buy your own lunch. This would save you gas money. If enough people sign up; perhaps, they will hire more buses.

What if you can’t attend: Write or call or email Governor Crist and your local representatives and tell them to fund their education laws and to NOT make budget cuts to your child’s education!

It’s not just about teacher’s pay or positions. It’s about specials, athletics, field trips, classroom class size.

St Lucie County School District Town Hall Meeting about the BUDGET CUTS on February 26th at Fort Pierce Central High School Auditorium. (see previous post-just scroll down for more information on this.)

According to Superintendent Lannon this year, our county school district cut $23 million dollars. Tallahassee has said they will cut 10% next year which would be an additional $30 million dollars.

That’s $53 million dollars in budget cuts in a two year period just for our school district.
