Here is a slideshow presentation that helps explain how to tell if a number is prime or composite.

NOTE: Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the site www.sketchcast.com at the moment. 8/20/08.
Here is an example of prime factorization from Mr. Welch embedded from sketchcast.com. It uses exponents, something you will learn about in the next lesson. The small number on the top right (called the exponent) means that you multiply the big bottom number (called the base) by itself that number of times.
