Notes on student changes in achievement levels:

In 2008, 5 students maintained a 5; 2 students lost a 5; 9 students gained a 5.

23 students maintained a 4; 10 students lost a 4 (one of whom dropped down to a 2); 5 students gained a 4; 3 students without previous FCAT scores earned a 4.

Average learning gain (DSS change): +80.65 (for 84 students with previous FCAT scores)

Highest positive learning gain: +448

Lowest negative learning gain: -100

(95 DSS points = 1 year learning gain for students earning a level 1 or 2, maintaining or gaining a level equals a learning gain for students earning a level 3, 4, or 5)

Average FCAT score 2008 (90 students):   3.54 (319/90 =3.54)

Average FCAT score 2007 (86 students):   3.64 (306/84 =3.64)

(Scores for unmatched students in 2008 were: 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4 = 19/6 = 3.16)

Students made a learning gain of 95 points or more: 31 out of 84 = 37%

Students who went down in achievement level: 20 out of 84 = 24%

5% of students made too small a positive learning gain to maintain their achievement level.

Students who made a negative DSS learning gain: 15 out of 84 = 18% (6 of these 15 students maintained achievement level)

Students who made a positive DSS learning gain: 69 out of 84 = 82%
